After being sent in to bat in a rain-reduced 23 over game, NT’s innings was hampered by a middle-order collapse as they limped to a total of 7-100 from their allotted overs.
NT had a promising start before Victorian paceman Xavier Crone (2-24 off five) and left arm orthodox Blake Parsons (2-16 off five) turned the game in Victoria’s favour as the batting side lost 5-28 in short time.
Stuck at 6-64 and looking down the barrel of an embarrassing start to the tournament, NT’s Brandon King (11) and Hamish Martin (19*) steadied the innings to set a somewhat modest total for the Vics to chase.
However, rain returned during the innings break, forcing the game to be abandoned with both teams splitting the points – two apiece.
Victoria will look to take the positive momentum from yesterday’s bowling efforts into today’s one-dayer against ACT/NSW Country in Kingston.
