Under-15s notch first win

In a must win game, Victoria won the toss and elected to bat posting 4-124 off their allotted overs, with WA only managing 4-112 from their innings.

Rosie Wynd was the standout batter for the Victorians compiling a classy 42 from just 44 deliveries to guide the innings.

After 10 overs, the girls were 3-49 and were needing a partnership to get a competitive total, and that they did, putting on 75 runs in the final 10 overs to reach 4-124.

With the ball, the girls didn’t get off to the greatest of starts with WA cruising to 1-58 at the 10 over mark, with Sam Ryan the wicket taker for the Victorians.

Victoria put the brakes on in the next five overs by restricting WA to only 19 runs whilst also picking up two wickets to leave WA 3-77 with five overs remaining.

The final five overs saw Victoria restrict WA to 4-112 and give the girls their first win of the tournament.

Ryan was the pick of the bowlers for the Victorians picking up three of the four wickets.

Victoria will play Tasmania on Sunday at Bruce Purser Oval in their third T20 match and look to win their second match of the National Championships.
