Metro was unable to defend 135 with NSW Green passing total for the loss of four wickets in the 33rd over.

Vic Country finished in sixth position after a narrow loss to NSW Magenta in the fifth-place place off.

Following the tournament, Metro’s Mackenzie Harvey was named captain of the Australian Under-16 squad which will play Pakistan next summer as well as participate in next year’s Under-17 National Championships, alongside teammates Bailen Clarke, Matthew Watt and Country’s Zane Keighran.

Harvey scored 191 runs in the series, including an unbeaten 95 off 84 against South Australia while Keighran amassed 210 runs, including the second highest innings of the tournament, 106* from 101 against the Australian Capital Territory.

Clarke secured his position in the squad after a brilliant spell in the semi-final against Queensland when he claimed 4-5 from ten overs, including six maidens.

The under-16 squad will train at the Bupa National Cricket Centre before competing in the Under 17 National Championships before heading to Dubai to take on Pakistan in a limited-overs series.
