Victoria announce under-15 squad

Victoria has named a 13-player squad for the up-coming Under-15 National Championships to be played in Western Sydney from November 27 to December 3.

The team will look to go one better than last season when they were defeated in the Final by New South Wales.

Four members return from last season with Hayleigh Brennan, Annabel Martin, Georgia Wareham and Madeleine Wright all earning selection once again.

Martin, Wareham and Brennan will be key players having being named in the Team of the Tournament last season.

The squad was selected after the inaugural Under 15 Country v Metro series that was staged at Caulfield Grammar earlier this month.

Victorian under-15 coach John Hayes hopes that pace will be the key to taking his team one step further from last year’s runners-up performance at the Championships.

“Being runners-up last year, we now want to go one better,” Hayes said.

“We have a number of girls who bowl between the high-80s to mid-90s (kilometers), so we definitely have a pace element in our squad.

“They are all developing nicely and continuing to get faster.”
