The Board of Cricket Victoria last night elected Paul Barker as the new Chairman.

Mr Barker was appointed a Director of Cricket Victoria in 2015 and is currently Chairman of WorkSafe Victoria and a trustee on the Victorian Arts Centre Trust.

“It is an honour to be elected Chairman of the Board of Cricket Victoria,” Mr Barker said.

“I look forward to working with my fellow Directors and Chief Executive Andrew Ingleton in providing the guidance and support to deliver on our goals for Victorian cricket. It is an exciting time to lead the Board as we work to ensure that Victorian cricket retains and grows its popularity across all levels of the sport,” Mr Barker said.

Cricket Victoria CEO Andrew Ingleton welcomed the appointment of Mr Barker.

“Paul has already made a significant contribution to our organisation and I’m pleased he will now lead us through our next chapter. Paul’s extensive corporate experience will serve the organisation well as we embark on the challenge to unite and inspire the Victorian community through cricket,” Mr Ingleton said.

Formerly, Mr Barker was Chairman of the Transport Accident Commission, Stadium Operations Limited Group (Marvel Stadium), the Emergency Service Telecommunication Authority, VicForests, Mirvac Funds Management Ltd and the Victorian Division of the Institute of Chartered Accountants.
