The Thomastown Cricket Club is now searching for a new coach, (playing or non-playing) for the 2024/25 season to lead our ever-growing club.
We have a long and rich history, initially established in 1956. Our facilities are brand new and state of the art in the hub of Thomastown.
We compete in the Diamond Valley Cricket Association (DVCA) and currently we have three senior men’s teams (looking to add a fourth) and are currently fielding an Under 10s team, but are always looking to improve our junior program. These teams are currently in Mash Shield, D Grade, G2 Grade & we are always looking to add players and a fourth XI. We also feature a Vets team. We currently field an open age women’s team; this is our second consecutive season of doing so. The program is ever growing and improving.
Our facilities are one of the newer in the DVCA, featuring an 83m-long clubrooms, four changerooms (including female friendly facilities), three lane enclosed cricketing nets (4 including a public net) and Floodlights that can assist in training.
This is an exciting opportunity to build a club from within and lead it to success.
Key Selection Criteria
The following skills would be required:
- Leadership skills
- Effective communication
- Game sense – technical & tactical
- Man management skills
- Level 1 accreditation (preferred, not required)
- Able to build and maintain relationships within the club.
Once appointed, the coach will be expected to:
- Aid in the recruitment of players to our club
- Manage training (nets or centre wicket)
- Passion to improve our on-field performance
- Bulid a strong culture within the club
- Assist/lead in selection meetings
- Provide one-on-one coaching to players in all grades
- Provide clear and concise feedback to team/individuals
- Improve the players currently listed at the club
- Be present at all club gatherings/functions.
